RURAL INFRASTRUCTURE

Taking a general loot at rural settlements in the GAP region, we observe that at present 64 % of all settlement units are provided drinking water, 23 % still remain without drinking water supply and 13 % have supply in short of need.

In terms of population concerned, figures given above correspond to the following: 79 % of rural population of the region have adequate drinking water supply, 9 % lack it and 12 % have drinking water but not fully responding to needs. Village drinking water supply inventory gives the distribution of rural settlements with respect to drinking water supply.

The total length of village roads in the GAP region reaches 28,420 km. Of this, 26.7 % is asphalted. 49.2 % is stabilized and 20.7 % is levelled. Village roads inventory gives the distribution of village road network with respect to provinces.
