About GAP RDA
The GAP Regional Development Administration was established upon the Law Decree no. 388 with a mandate to ensure the rapid development of areas covered by the region of South-eastern Anatolia. The organisation of the Administration comprises the Higher Board for South-eastern Anatolia Project and the Presidency of GAP Regional Development Administration (Presidency of GAP Administration). The GAP Administration is also assigned the task of conducting secretarial services for the GAP Higher Board. Working under the Prime Ministerial Office either directly under Prime Minister or via a State Minister designated, the GAP Administration has its central and regional organisations.
Starting from July 2005, a series of restructuring initiatives have been taken to review the operation of the Administration and to ensure more effective and efficient service delivery. The mission and vision of the GAP Administration were both reshaped in line with these initiatives.
Under the Law no. 5490 on the "Establishment, Coordination and Tasks of Regional Development Agencies" taking effect on 25 January 2006, paragraph (f) of Article 2 of the Decree Law no. 388 on the Establishment and Tasks of the South-eastern Project Regional Development Administration was amended, a new paragraph (i) was inserted and the last paragraph of Article 3 was annulled.
