OVERALL PURPOSE OF GENERAL COORDINATION

Undertaking research, planning, Project design and implementation Works geared to the realisation of social and human development in the GAP Region; sharing the information and experience of the GAP in this regard with national and international organisations through cooperation and carrying out training activities for capacity building.

DUTIES AND AUTHORITY

• Developing national and international training programmes focusing on the GAP Region; investigating the possibilities of new opportunities of both national and international cooperation in developing training programmes; preparing training packages basing on the institutional capacity of the Administration,
• Making use of the training experience and potential of other governmental agencies, Universities and non-governmental organisations and investigating possibilities of cooperation in the field of training,
• Conducting researches and making plans to identify the socioeconomic and cultural problems and priorities of the region,
• Helping disadvantaged groups’ integration with the process of development and developing projects to ensure that these groups benefit better from development efforts,
• Increasing efficiency in education, health and social services and making efforts to ensure that these services are accessible to all population groups,
• Designing and implementing projects to help population groups negatively affected by development initiatives adapt to their new environments,
• Developing and implementing small-scale income generating projects targeting the poor sections of the society and making efforts to promote social participation and organisation.
