GAP Administration’s president, Mr. Sadrettin KARAHOCAGİL attended Mediterranean Water Institute (IME)  Board of Directors and General Assebly meetings with M. Vedat ÖZBİLEN in Marseille/France on 7 July 2008. At the same date, Loïc FAUCHON, president of World Water Council, was visited.

Mr. Sadrettin KARAHOCAGİL has been appointed as a president of the GAP Administration, effective June 23 th, 2008.

The GAP Action Plan has been announced by the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

 The GAP Action Plan, designed and set forth in the context of the GAP Project, aiming at mainly irrigation and covering basic infrastructure needs and accelerating economic development and social progress in the Region, has been announced in Diyarbakır Province on 27 May, 2008 by the Premier Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in course of a propagation ceremony.

 

The ceremony has been attended by some Cabinet members, Parliamentarians of the Region, Governors, senior officials, businessmen, representatives of NGO’s and Chambers of Professionals.
