GAP TRAINING SERVICES

The GAP Coordination Unit for Training Services conducts training activities to contribute to human and social development and enhance capacity in these areas by cooperating and sharing its knowledge and experience with relevant national and international organizations.

 

MISSION

  • To respond, in line with principles of sustainability and participation, to training needs of population affected directly or indirectly by GAP investments and projects and to help specific population in groups in reaching self-sufficiency.
  • To support staff and units delivering services to the GAP in their efforts to further their technical capacity.
  • To carry to national and international platforms the information and experience gained during the GAP process.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To organize training programs and study tours to support human resources development and capacity building in organizations and agencies extending services to the GAP region.
  2. To share GAP related development information and experience at national and international platforms through training programs.
  3. To contribute to the GAP and its publicity by further developing existing national/international strategic cooperation and searching new possibilities of cooperation.

 TRAINING IN WHICH AREAS?

Training activities are planned in two categories as "regional and human capacity building" and "exchange of experience".

Training in "regional capacity building" is planned in regard to the needs of the region concerned, requests in specific fields and by utilizing the fields of expertise of partner organizations.

Training activities and study tours in the context of experience exchange are also arranged by capitalizing on domestic and external suggestions/application to the GAP Administration.

WHAT ARE THE TARGET GROUPS OF TRAINING?

  1. Population groups affected directly or indirectly by GAP (urban poor, farmers, women, youth, children working in streets, etc.)
  2. Governmental organizations, the private sector, local governments, NGOs, academics, postgraduate students.
  3. People from the governmental, private and voluntary organizations of other countries involved in region/rural development activities, who may benefit from information and experience obtained through GAP.
