OVERALL PURPOSE OF GENERAL COORDINATION

Ensuring the communication of the GAP-RDA with other countries and international organisations; renewing the targets and activities of the Administration in the light of EU’s regional development objectives and strategies and conducting project and fund development activities nationally and internationally to secure funds to projects and activities needed for the development of the region.

DUTIES AND AUTHORITY

• Ensuring the communication of the GAP-RDA with other countries and international organisations and maintaining cooperation with relevant organisations for the effective use of the EU programme and structural instruments,
• Closely following developments relating to EU’s regional development goals and strategies and renewing goals and strategies of the Administration accordingly,
• Closely following developments in the context of the process of Turkey’s full accession to the EU,
• Activating the protocols of cooperation that the Administration has acted with international organisations and taking initiatives for new partnerships,
• Taking part in study tours and meetings with foreign missions and delegations visiting the GAP Region and producing reports concerning these activities in collaboration with relevant units,
• Making necessary preparations for such activities as international meetings and seminars that the Administration is going to participate,
• Conducting project development and fund raising activities needed to achieve regional development targets,
• Developing a standard project format to serve as a basis for project design and background information.
