Justification: Imbalance with respect to income levels of farmers engaged in irrigated farming and others on non-irrigated areas is increasing in the course of time.

Goal: Within the framework of sustainable farming techniques, identification of potential income generating activities, whether agricultural or non-agricultural, giving effect to pilot activities in this context, improving income levels of landless peasants and farmers with small holdings, and contributing to family incomes by introducing supplementary economic activities.

Objective: Identifying existing socio-economic status of population remaining out of irrigated areas in the GAP Region, their relations with natural and social environments and potentials to introduce and encourage new fields of income generation whether agricultural or non-agricultural.

In the period 2009-2018, 90 projects were supported in the GAP Region under the project.
